Assam Laksa is by far one of my favourite Malaysian delicacies! The spicy & tangy tamarind fish broth flavoured with spices such as chilli, gallangal & lemongrass brings together a dish of slippery rice noodles with pineapple, cucumber & fresh herbs! It is probably one of the hardest dishes to make & therefore not many people attempt making it out of Malaysia.
To my excitement, I discovered that Fast Wok had it on their menu as a new addition. Although a little bit different, rather watery & missing the fragrant shrimp paste, it was still good enough to satisfy the deprived Malaysian in me.
